Ewald Terhart

Ewald Terhart (born December 3, 1952 in Borken , North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German pedagogue and professor of educational science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University .

Live and act

Terhart first attended secondary school and then graduated from high school Remigianum . He studied at the University of Münster , graduated as a qualified pedagogue, did his doctorate and habilitation in 1982 at the University of Osnabrück and then worked at the universities in Osnabrück and Lüneburg from 1988 to 1993. Terhart was Jakob Muth's chair successor in Bochum from 1993 to 2002 , before accepting a professorship for school education and general didactics in Münster in 2002 . In 2004 he was elected an external member of the Finnish Academy of Sciences .

Terhart deals with questions of educational research , the teaching profession and teacher training .
