Ewald Walterskirchen

Ewald Walterskirchen (born May 1, 1945 ) is an Austrian economist .

Walterskirchen worked from 1970 to 2010 as a research assistant at the Austrian Institute for Economic Research (WIFO), a. a. as a member of the management and as coordinator of the macroeconomics research area . He is currently a WIFO consultant.

Work

Walterskirchen has published in the fields of labor market research , macroeconomics and European economic policy, among others . He became internationally known as the coordinator of the Kreisky International Commission for Employment Issues. Their report "20 million looking for work" took a stand against neoliberalism .

Walterskirchen wrote books on "Unemployment and Labor Market Flexibility" (ILO study) and labor market policy in Sweden as well as many WIFO papers. He represented a Keynesian position and recommended economic strategies in line with Keynes and Kalecki .

In 2005 Walterskirchen published the book "The way in the information society". In it he outlined a universal pattern of development for nature and society.
