The expedition rock ( English for Expedition Rock is) an over washed up from the sea Rifffelsen off the north coast of Laurie Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located 2.5 km east-northeast of Cape Robertson in the entrance to Jessie Bay .

The Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle (1884-1933) mapped it between 1912 and 1915 and named it as Aagot Grunning (Norwegian for Agatha Shoal ). Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations re-mapped it in 1933 and gave it its current name.
