  • Offline function: Applications can be synchronized for offline use .
  • Mobile Access: Processing of applications via Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or smartphone .
  • Service Managed Deployment: Applications can be installed centrally controlled for the users.
  • Rich client and web-based user interface: Applications can easily be adapted to the rich client as well as to the web browser . Reuse of components.

Use in other IBM software

IBM is increasingly developing user software based on the OSGi framework, which is also used in the Lotus Expeditor. For example, Lotus Notes 8 and Lotus Sametime 7.5.x are based on this technology. Since both software products were developed on this basis, they can now be integrated into Lotus Notes 8. With this technology it is possible to use the Sametime awareness of a user in the Lotus Notes 8 client with the full functionality of Sametime 7.5.x.
