The Experimental Aircraft Association ( EAA for short ) is an international, non-profit organization that deals with experimental aircraft construction . The organization is based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin .

history

The EAA was founded in 1953 by the pilot and aircraft designer Paul Poberezny and today has over 170,000 members. The association has been running its own museum, the EAA AirVenture Museum , since 1982 , in which over 90 aircraft are exhibited. A total of 200 copies belong to the collection. The EAA organizes the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh , a major event with around 800 exhibitors, up to 15,000 aircraft and 600,000 spectators and supports the Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland (Florida) , which has been taking place every April since 1974 .
