Expert (magazine)
Expert (Russian Эксперт ) is a business magazine from Russia . It appears weekly with a circulation of 85,000 copies. The editorial office is in Moscow .
History and owner
Expert magazine was founded in 1995 by former editors of the Russian business newspaper Kommersant ; The foundation was funded by billionaire Vladimir Olegowitsch Potanin . When it was founded, Potanin left a large part of the shares to the editorial team. In 2004 the publishing house Expert Potanin bought 41.5 percent of the shares and from then on published the magazine independently. Today, the editorial team is the owner of the publishing house through the majority of shares.
In December 2006, the Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska acquired a stake in the publisher through the company RAIiKo, which he controls, and can use it to block decisions. The Expert publishing house wants to expand its business media business together with Deripaska, including by expanding into the TV and Internet industries.
