Expoland ( Japanese エ キ ス ポ ラ ン ド ) was an amusement park in Japan .

The park was opened in 1970 on the occasion of the 1970 World Exhibition in Suita ( Osaka Prefecture ). Until it was closed on December 9, 2007, the park was one of the most important amusement parks in Japan with over 40 rides.

The park's flagship was the Daidarasaurus roller coaster . At the opening of the Expo, Daidarasaurus was a racing coaster and still consisted of two separate tracks, which were connected to each other in 1999. The collapsed rails reached a length of 2340 meters, with which Daidarasaurus held the record as the longest roller coaster in the world for around a year.

Other roller coasters were the Space Salamander , which opened in 1980, the Mini Coaster from 1985, the Orochi from 1996, the Wild Mouse from 1996, the Fujin Raijin II from 1992 and the family rollercoaster from 2003.

In May 2007 there was an accident on Fujin Raijin II due to a broken axle, in which a woman died and 19 people were injured. In the subsequent investigation it was found that wearing parts had not been replaced for around 15 years. Although the park reopened in December 2007, visitors avoided the park in subsequent years and the owners closed the park for good on February 9, 2009.
