Exponential current

With exponential is triangular current pulses with a delayed increase. The delayed rise is eponymous with its exponential form.

Exponential current is used as a special form of low-frequency stimulation current therapy , as this current flow selectively only stimulates denervated muscles. This form of therapy is indicated for any muscle denervation, i. H. in any disease with loss of function of the second motor neuron , provided there is a prospect of nerve regeneration in the course of the disease. The aim of the therapy is to maintain the function of the muscles or to limit the atrophy during the nerve regeneration phase.

Another area of ​​application for exponential current is the irritation of smooth muscles , for example for the treatment of chronic habitual constipation or for bladder or contractions weakness .
