Exceptional clause

The Exzeptivsatz ( latin exceptio "exception", "Restriction") is a special record type. Is meant sets of conditions which the non-occurrence of the carrier sentence designated Proposition reasoned, wherein the implementation of the condition is believed to be unlikely.

Grammatical construction of the exceptional clause: The reality form of the if-clause is converted into the possibility form, then the “if” is deleted and this is replaced by a “then” in the final position .

From a stylistic point of view, the exceptional clause is considered outdated and precious .
