Ezequiel González

Ezequiel González (born July 10, 1980 in Rosario ) is an Argentine football player .

Ezequiel González began his professional career in 1997 in his native city at Rosario Central . After four years he left his club in the summer of 2001 and moved to the Italian Serie A at Fiorentina . Due to problems getting used to it and only moderate playing time, he made the decision to return to his home country Argentina after only one season. In 2003, after a season at the traditional club Boca Juniors, he returned to the first stop of his career, Rosario Central. After half a year González moved to Greece to Panathinaikos Athens in January 2004 for a transfer fee of $ 500,000 . The Argentine established himself there right from the start and was one of the top performers on his team.

With Panathinaikos Ezequiel González was able to win his first professional title. After winning the Greek Club Cup , he and his team secured the Greek Championship just a few weeks later . The following season, González also made his first international attention by scoring three goals in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League . One of these goals was named one of the most beautiful goals of the season when González was able to dup Jens Lehmann and hit the goal from around 30 meters.

González acts in the central, attacking midfield and stands out because of his technical skills. He is one of the most popular players among Panathinaikos fans.
