The building with the postal address Fährstraße 2 is a listed building on Fährstraße in Stralsund .

The three-storey , five-axis , plastered gable house is essentially Gothic . It was built in 1780. In 1792, the master carpenter Johann Heinrich Dumrath acquired the house from Count Ferdinand von Putbus and had the facade changed and an apartment set up on the first floor. It was changed again in the 19th century and extensively renovated and renewed between 1976 and 1979, with changes to the facade and interior. Another renovation of the house was completed in 2016.

A slight risalit formation up to the gable approach highlights the central axis with the portal. The multi-storey gable above the strong main cornice shows a curved top with a triangular crown. The early classicist door with a skylight dates from the 18th century.

The house is located in the core area of ​​the city ​​area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 161.
