Federal Police

The Federal Police (Dutch: Federale Politie ; French: Police Fédérale ) is the nationwide police force in Belgium . It is under the supervision of the Ministers of the Interior and the Justice. It is comparable to the German Federal Police and carries out its tasks on the entire Belgian national territory. Since June 15, 2018, First Chief Commissioner Marc De Mesmaeker has been Commissioner General of the Federal Police.

The Federal Police is divided into a General Commissioner, three General Directorates (the General Directorate of the Administrative Police, the General Directorate of the Criminal Police and the General Directorate for the Management of Resources and Information) and a Central Directorate located in Brussels. In addition, there are deconcentrated directorates and offices in the districts.

The Federal Police Special Units is the special unit of the Belgian Federal Police.
