history

The Mennonite community in the Heilbronn area has existed since at least 1770. It used to be composed mainly of farmers who held their church services at different locations, mostly in the homesteads of the members such as Lautenbach or Willenbach . The Wuerttemberg MP Christian Hege was one of the well-known lay preachers of this community . Around 1900 the church services were held centrally in Heilbronn . In the recent past, the community has received more and more people from the CIS states . In 1985, the Mennonites acquired the former industrial school at Bachstrasse 14 from the city of Bad Friedrichshall and converted it into a community center and meeting place for church services. The services are usually led by lay people.
