The joining machine is an old machine tool and belongs to the group of dressing machines .

The joining machine is used to straighten the edges of long boards. With the help of this machine one is able to make an exact glue joint without the need for manual post-processing.

The frame of the joining machine is made of wood or metal, the knife shaft runs in two bearings , the knife width being 150 millimeters. This machine offers great advantages in particular when making crate boards.

In the past, a specially designed stave joining machine was also used in the manufacture of wooden barrels .
