As tactile or sensible heat is called thermal energy , which in supply or removal directly in increase or decrease of temperature is expressed.

The term is mainly used in meteorology and supply engineering to distinguish it from latent heat , which in thermodynamics is called conversion enthalpy . The ratio between sensible and latent heat is called the Bowen ratio .

Transport factors of thermal energy include wind, convection and advection.
