Sensing box

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A feeling box , also known as a tactile box, is an experience object primarily intended for children, into which one should reach blindly in order to guess the contents with the sense of touch .

The object used is a container like a box, in which one or more holes are made and, if necessary, partitions. The openings should be protected from sight. Various objects or materials are deposited in the container for palpation. The risk of injury must be excluded, the surprise effect for children should be given. A variety of tactile sensations (e.g. fur , slime , balloon , ice cubes , cotton wool ) are not only entertaining for children.

Therefore, a feeling box is also used by professionals to bring nature experiences closer to them, e.g. B. for palpation of animals or various tree fruits.
