Location of the Führer headquarters

The Führer Headquarters Bear Cave was a bunker facility built by the Organization Todt near Smolensk in the Soviet Union during World War II .

It consists of a 43 square meter cube-like superstructure that is still visible today. The underground dimensions have not yet been explored. The bunker is located in a wooded area around one kilometer from Gnjosdowo on the road from Smolensk to Katyn . In addition to the bunker system, the embankment of the former special track is still visible.

Hitler never used the facility as the Fuehrer's headquarters .
