The Fuehrer's headquarters in Brunhilde (also known under the code name “Gypsies”) was built in the Second World War near Arsweiler near Diedenhofen in the CdZ area of Lorraine . Large parts of the complex have been preserved to this day. The facility was built within existing tunnels of the Maginot Line and covered a tunnel area of 15,300 square meters. The facility was designed to accommodate both Hitler and his management staff as well as Heinrich Himmler and the OKH . The whole area was made accessible by a narrow-gauge railway. A few wooden barracks and two larger bunkers were built above ground . One of these bunkers has the same design as the Wolfsschlucht 2 pilot bunker in Margival near Soissons .
