Guide system K20

The K20 guide system is the government bunker of the Swiss government near Kandersteg in the canton of Bern . It is located at the entrance to the Gastern Valley on the Kander .

The facility was completed in 1999 and is said to provide shelter for a thousand people. The construction costs were CHF 238 million; maintenance costs around CHF 350,000 per year.

The first Bundesrat bunker: "Reduit Kp Bundesrat"

The first Federal Council bunker was the A 8760 / K8 Brindlistollen bunker from the Second World War near Zwing-Uri . This was followed by the K10 facility near Brienz, called “Alpenrösli”, in the same function.
