The command vehicle (short: FüKW ) is a standardized command vehicle for civil protection and disaster control . On the one hand there is the former type, as it was procured by the federal government for the technical operations management (TEL), and on the other hand the current version of the technical relief organization .

Former type for technical operations management

It is a vehicle similar to the command vehicle 1 , but which is equipped with more extensive communication technology. This included two permanently installed 4 m radio devices and one permanently installed 2 m radio device ( BOS radio ), all of which could also be operated via a radio mast mounted on the vehicle. Management vehicles serve as mobile telecommunication operations with a radio and telephone system. They have rear-wheel drive and have two seats in the driver's cab and - depending on the variant - three or four seats in the body. The permissible total mass varies between 2.3 tons and 3.2 tons depending on the version. Management vehicles can still be found as emergency or museum vehicles.

Type of the THW

In the management / communication specialist group of the technical relief organization, the existing management vehicles are to be replaced by new ones with heavily revised, modernized equipment and five seats for the management team. It also serves as a relay and repeater point in radio communications.
