description
Filler words can be left out without changing the statement at the factual level. They are sometimes used to emotionally color content or to smooth out a verse. In the spoken language, they can be used to improve the fluency of the language. Many speakers or writers use them rashly and involuntarily, which usually leads to bad style.
In the French literature of the 17th and 18th centuries, the filler word as Cheville was frowned upon.
