Princely Liechtenstein Sports Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Princely Liechtenstein Sports Association (FLSV) was the umbrella organization for all Liechtenstein sports clubs and associations.

It was founded in 1936 as a state sports association for the Principality of Liechtenstein on the initiative of Woldemar von Falz-Fein and Josef Hoop . The state sports association was headed by the Supreme Sports Committee, whose tasks and composition were comprehensively regulated for the first time from 1942. The Supreme Sports Committee consisted of the chairman, the secretary and at least three assessors and was elected by an assembly of delegates for a three-year term.

From 1937 onwards, the association held a state sports day every year. In 1939 the state sports badge was created. It was divided into membership, achievement and honor badges.

Later referred to as the Liechtenstein State Sports Association , it was renamed the Princely Liechtenstein Sports Association in 1983 . At the same time, the Supreme Sports Committee was now called the Board. In 1992, the Princely Liechtenstein Sports Association merged with the Liechtenstein Olympic Committee and the Liechtenstein Sporthilfe Foundation to form the Liechtenstein Olympic Sports Association . This was renamed the Liechtenstein Olympic Committee in 2013 .
