The 424.001 was a tank locomotive of the Friedland – Bila local railway ( Místní dráha Frýdlant – Bílá ; FBD).
history
The 424.001 was built in 1924 by První Česko-moravská (PČM) in Prague with the serial number 950. In terms of design, it was based on the ČSD series 423.0 , which was built at the same time , but had no running axles. The wheel sets, the furnace, the steam cylinders and many other parts of the machine were identical.
In operation it showed that the 1'D1 'wheel arrangement of the 323.0 series was more suitable, but that the 424.001 could still meet its requirements. After the nationalization of the FBD in 1946 it was still part of the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD), where it was given the number 424.101. In 1949 it was retired in Olomouc and sold to an industrial company in Spišská Nová Ves .
