The FC Ashgabat ( Russian ФК "Ашхабад" ) is a football club from Ashgabat , the capital of Turkmenistan, founded in 2006 . He currently plays in the country's highest league, the Ýokary League , and is the reigning champion. The club plays its home games in Dagdan Stadium. In the first year of foundation, third at the end of the season, the club became champions in 2007 and 2008. This entitles them to participate directly in the AFC President's Cup . They reached the semi-finals in 2008 and failed there to Regar TadAZ from Tajikistan . Even when they participated again in the following year, they reached the semi-finals, but lost to the Kyrgyz representative Dordoi-Dynamo .
