Rosmarie Günther

Rosmarie Günther (born July 10, 1942 in Beuthen ) is a German ancient historian .

Rosmarie Günther graduated from high school in Heidelberg in 1963 and began studying German , history and political science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , later she also went to the University of Mannheim . In 1969 she passed the state examination in Mannheim and became a research assistant there. In 1973/74 she spent her legal traineeship in Trier , where she passed the second state examination. She then returned to Mannheim University and became an academic councilor there in 1974 . The doctorate took place in 1985 with a thesis on the topic of women's work - women's loyalty. Investigations into unfree and released women in the city roman inscriptions . In 2007 she retired as an academic senior councilor. On November 9, 2012, Günther received the University Medal from the University of Mannheim.

Günther is particularly concerned with the history of women in antiquity , epigraphy and the history of Mannheim . She is particularly committed to establishing close links between schools and universities.
