The FC Eintracht Nürnberg (officially football club Eintracht Nürnberg eV ) was a sports club from Nuremberg . The first soccer team played for three years in the then first-class Gauliga Bayern in the 1940s .
history
The association was founded in 1914 and merged in May 1940 with SV Frankonia Nürnberg, founded in 1932, to form Eintracht / Franken Nürnberg . In the first season after the merger, the team was promoted to Gauliga Bayern. In the following season , relegation was missed by lengths as the penultimate. Eintracht lost at champions 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 with 0: 9 and at runner-up SpVgg Fürth with 0:16. Since the Gauliga was divided into northern and southern Bavaria due to the war , the Nuremberg club remained first class.
Even the subsequent relegation brought the unity no luck and the team rose after the 1942/43 season as penultimate. The champions 1. FC Nürnberg won at Eintracht 20: 1. For the 1944/45 season , Eintracht / Franconia Nuremberg was included in the newly created Middle Franconia relay . After the end of the war, the club took on the name FC Eintracht again, was accepted into the then second-class Bayernliga and was relegated from it in 1948. Two years later, FC Eintracht merged with the Spielvereinigung Zabo Nürnberg to form the Spielvereinigung Zabo-Eintracht Nürnberg .
