The FC Kickers Luzern is a Swiss football club from the city of Lucerne . The club currently plays in the first division , the fifth division in Switzerland.

history

The association was founded on July 1, 1907. Some of the founders of the FCK had already worked in regional football. The big brother, FC Luzern , was founded in 1901. In the turbulent first years there were not only football fans, but also those who were disappointed with the results at FC Luzern.

In 1907, some of them left the FCL and joined the small FC Helvetia. FC Helvetia was one of many neighborhood clubs that later dissolved or joined large ones. From FC Helvetia, the FCK was founded on December 4, 1907 in the Schmiedstube restaurant. The colors red and black were quickly determined at the founding meeting, but the decision on a club name took longer, as Concordia, Blue Stars and Kickers were available.

In 2005, after 43 years, FC Kickers Luzern rose again to the highest amateur league in Switzerland. After two turbulent and interesting seasons - with two very different faces - the club had to move back into the fourth highest league.

In 2017, FC Kickers Luzern was promoted back to the first division, the fourth division in Switzerland.

Stadion

The old Alpenquai stadium was demolished in 1962 and three years of playing on unfamiliar pitches. In 1965 the Tribschen sports field was inaugurated, where FC Kickers got its own stadium.

Located between the Eisfeld, Butterzentrale and the “Treibhaus” youth center, the Kickers area with the main and training area is one of the most beautiful in Central Switzerland after various renovations.
