The FC Neuchâtel is a former football club based in Neuchâtel .
The club was founded in the spring of 1895 and took part in Serie A of the Swiss football championships in 1898/99 , 1899/00 , 1900/01 , 1901/02 , 1902/03 , 1903/04 , 1904/05 .
In 1902/03, FC Neuchâtel took part in the finals in Bern as group winners of Group West, together with FC Zurich and the eventual Swiss champions FC Young Boys . After Young Boys had already won against Zurich, the match between YB and FC Neuchâtel took place on April 13, 1903, which YB won 5-0. Since YB won against both FC Zurich and FC Neuchâtel, they were already Swiss champions, the meeting between Zurich and Neuchâtel became superfluous and was not played.
In 1906 FC Neuchâtel merged with FC Vignoble to form FC Cantonal Neuchâtel , which in turn merged with FC Xamax in 1970 to form Neuchâtel Xamax .
