NGC 5880 is a 14.3 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Libra on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 333 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5878 , NGC 5883 , NGC 5892 .
The object was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on June 6, 1885 .
