NGC 5883 is a 13.8 mag bright lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Libra on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 330 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 5878 , NGC 5880 , NGC 5892 .
The object was discovered by Joseph Winlock on July 30, 1867 .
