Ontinyent CF was a Spanish football club from the small town of Ontinyent in the Comunidad Valenciana . The club, founded in 1947, played five seasons in the second-rate Segunda División and was dissolved in 2019 due to financial difficulties.
history
Ontinyent CF, founded in 1947, had its most successful period in the 1960s and early 1970s. For a total of five seasons, the Valencians were represented in the Segunda División , the second highest Spanish league. Ontinyent was mostly represented in lower leagues until the 2006/07 season was promoted to Segunda División B , in which the club played permanently until it was relegated to the Tercera División in 2013. In 2017 the rise was successful. In the second half of the 2018/19 season, the club withdrew due to financial difficulties and announced its dissolution in March 2019.
