The soccer company Seckbach 1902 , shortened to FG Seckbach 02 , is a soccer club from the Frankfurt district of Seckbach . Its home arena has been the Seckbach district sports facility on Hochstädter Strasse since the 1920s.

history

The association was founded on May 25, 1902 by some young people in the family home of one of the founding members on Seckbacher Leonhardsgasse and initially traded as FC Kornblume .

Just one year later, the decision was made to rename the club to the Seckbach Football Association and a club stamp was ordered for the new name. However, due to a mistake , this was issued to the club name Fußball-Gesellschaft Seckbach , so that it was then decided to adopt this name.

In 1904 the club joined the South German Football Association , which played its championship tournaments in three classes, A, B and C. As a newcomer, FG Seckbach came to the C-class, which it won in the 1909/10 season and thus made it to the B-class.

When the leagues were restructured after the First World War , the FG Seckbach was classified in the A class, so that the club played in the first-class district league Nordmain for the first time in the 1919/20 season in the second class. By the championship at the end of the same season, the FG Seckbach succeeded in promotion to the then highest division North Main, in which it was represented in the two following seasons 1920/21 and 1921/22 . In these two seasons at the highest level, the team from Seckbach was able to compete with the then large teams in the region, such as the oldest Hessian football club Hanau 93 , Eintracht Frankfurt and FSV Frankfurt .

But the team of FG Seckbach could not establish itself in the league and had to accept relegation after a restructuring for the 1922/23 season. After that, the FG Seckbach never played first class and gradually slipped into the deeper regions.

The first men's team is currently playing in the Frankfurt West group league in the 2017/18 season .
