Foreign Instrumentation Signals Intelligence

As Foreign Instrumentation Signals Intelligence ( FISINT ; German  "Signalaufklerung Auslandischer Instrumente" ) is used by intelligence services and the military to understand and evaluate foreign measurement data that arise during the development and testing of platforms and weapon systems. The intercepted signals in the electromagnetic spectrum come from telemetry , from location , target tracking , control devices and video data links.

In addition to telecommunications intelligence (COMINT) and electronic intelligence (ELINT), FISINT is a sub-category of signal intelligence (SIGINT).
