FTG Pfungstadt

The Free Gymnastics Community 1900 e. V. Pfungstadt (FTG Pfungstadt) is a sports club in the south of Pfungstadt .

The association was founded on April 29, 1900 by 25 young workers from the SPD environment . After the beginnings in gymnastics and athletics, the club was supplemented by a football division in 1912 and a handball division in 1921 . The association was banned by the National Socialists before the Second World War . After 1945 the TSV Pfungstadt , which is still in existence today, was created . The FTG itself was only re-established on October 20, 1956. Today it is one of the largest youth sports clubs.

Successes in national and international championships in various sports can also be recorded. So who reached round weight -Jongleure 1963 the German championship. In weightlifting , Pfungstadt athletes such as Jörg Bauer, Reinhold Gnirk and Beytullah Cakirer won German championship titles. In 2006 the team fought in the 2nd Bundesliga .

The most successful department of FTG Pfungstadt is the cheerleading department founded in 2004 , the "FTG Allstars". With her team of men and women (team name "Bullets", formerly "Wildcheer"), she won the German championship from 2006 to 2010 and 2012 to 2015. Best placement at the World Championships (The Worlds) in Orlando, Florida was fifth in the Nations Cup 2009. After their first European Championship title in 2007, the "Bullets" were European champions again in 2012, 2013 and 2015. In 2012, the youth team “Pumas” came second at the German and European championships. In 2013 and 2014 they won the German championship title.

In underwater rugby , the 2005/06 season saw the first promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga South.
