FT Jeßnitz (officially: Freie Turnerschaft Jeßnitz ) was a sports club from Jeßnitz in what is now Saxony-Anhalt . In 1932, the soccer team became German champions of the combat community for red sports unit , also known as "Rotsport".

history

The association was founded in 1906. In 1932 the Jeßnitz footballers were first champions of the province of Prussia. With 2-1 victories over ASV Leipzig-Schönefeld and SV Fortuna Greppin , the team became East German regional champions. The team thus reached the semi-finals at the Reich level, where the Jeßnitz team prevailed 4-1 against ASV Stern Zierlau in front of 4,000 spectators in Berlin . The opponent in the final on December 11, 1932 in Bitterfeld was BV Bismarck-Ost from Gelsenkirchen . In front of 4,000 spectators Jeßnitz clearly won 8-0 and secured the German championship.

A few months later the National Socialists came to power . FT Jeßnitz was banned and dissolved. It is not known whether the members joined other clubs. After the end of the World War , SK Jeßnitz was founded. This later changed its name to Tractor Jeßnitz , BSG Chemie Agfa Wolfen, Department Jeßnitz , BSG Chemie Jeßnitz and then in 1990 to SG Jeßnitz .
