FWB software

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Californian company FWB Software, Inc. was a manufacturer of programs and expansion cards with a focus on hard disk and storage media technology , especially for the Macintosh .

In particular, the expansion cards for the so-called RAID technology were very widespread, especially in the graphics industry, because of the performance requirements there. Sledgehammer was previously offered for NuBus , later for PCI .

The hardware division was sold to StreamLogic on July 1, 1992, which in turn emerged from the hard disk manufacturer Micropolis . The FWB hardware was then sold on for some time under the label "Hammer Storage Solutions" until this division was bought by "Bell Microproducts" in 2000. The website was switched off in November 2005 without further notice.
