Foreign Exchange Station
Foreign eXchange Station ( FXS ) refers to a device in telecommunications that provides telephone services to terminal devices ( FXO devices) connected to a telephone system . As such, it generates the supply voltage for the end devices and the bell signal, among other things. Telephone jacks are FXS connectors. Devices connected to such a socket, such as telephones or modems , on the other hand, have FXO connections themselves.
