Faauuga Tia Muagututia (born May 13, 1958 in Pago Pago ) is a bobsledder from American Samoa .

He was a member of the US Navy and since 1979 a member of the Navy Seals . Muagututia, stationed on Naval Amphibious Base Coronado near San Diego , began bobsleigh for the first time in 1992 and attended pilot training in Calgary in November of the same year .

Muagututia achieved with 38 points in two international races in Calgary in 1994 and participation in a total of five international races on three different routes in two countries, qualifying for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . There he and his partner Brad Kiltz were the first athlete from American Samoa to take part in the Winter Olympic Games . The two reached 39th place in the two-man bobsleigh.

Muagututia's wife, Kathy Muagututia, played volleyball professionally . They have three sons together. One of these sons, Garrett Muagututia , also played volleyball and was a member of the United States national team.
