The Fachhochschule für Bergbau Saar was a technical college with a focus on mining in Saarbrücken .

history

The school was founded in 1807 under Napoleonic occupation and renamed the Royal Prussian Mountain School in 1816. Later it was called just Bergschule zu Saarbrücken, then Bergingenieurschule. In 1990 it was finally given the designation “ Fachhochschule für Bergbau Saar” . With the decline in mining in Saarland , the study program was gradually discontinued after 2000.
