The specialist for pipe, sewer and industrial service has been a state-recognized training occupation in Germany since June 17, 2002 according to the Vocational Training Act .

The previous job title was supply and disposal. This training occupation belongs to the group of environmental protection professions, which also include the environmental training professions of specialist for wastewater technology , specialist for water supply technology and specialist for recycling and waste management .

Duration of training

The training period to become a specialist for pipe, sewer and industrial service is usually three years. This occupation has two main focuses: pipe and sewer service as well as industrial service, each lasting 32 weeks in the 16th to 36th month of training.

As a rule, the training company sets the focus before the start of the training. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .

Work areas

Specialists for pipe, sewer and industrial services work in the private, public and industrial sectors and are employed in companies that provide pipe and sewer services as well as industrial cleaning and maintenance.

Specialists for pipe, sewer and industrial service carry out their work independently or independently on the basis of technical documents and rules as well as legal bases. They obtain information, plan and coordinate their work. They document their performance and take measures for quality assurance, safety, health and environmental protection at work.
