A conference of the library specialist units in Germany (formerly Center for public libraries and Center for Public Libraries , library office , Land library office , Biichereizentrale , Consulting Center , specialized state agency designated or similar) is a nonprofit institution with the task of consulting and services for public libraries and to provide their carrier. The administration is located in Wiesbaden .

The agencies are either the federal states or, on their behalf, municipal associations (responsible for the municipal city and community libraries) or the Protestant or Catholic Church (responsible for the church-run libraries).

The specialist center conference is represented in library and library policy committees and advocates the interests of public libraries, including: a. as a cooperation partner of the " Competence Network for Libraries ".
