Fahretofter Westerkoog

The Fahretofter Westerkoog is a Koog in the municipality of Dagebüll between the Osewoldter Koog and the Hauke-Haien-Koog . Since it was dyed in 1988, the Koog covers an area of ​​around 55 ha, which is characterized by bodies of water and small islands. The area is part of the bird sanctuary according to the Ramsar Convention "Wadden Sea and adjacent coastal areas (EGV DE 0916-491)". The species that occur here include the black-necked grebe , the dwarf gray sergeant , whooper swan and the black tern, which is threatened with extinction in Germany .
