The Johann Demmler KG is a manufacturer of commercial vehicles. The company has specialized in the construction of agricultural trailer systems. In 1966 the company was relocated to its current location in Wertingen, Geratshofen district , and is managed by Hans Demmler, the son of Johann Demmler.
history
Already in the fourth generation, Johann Demmler KG develops and builds trailers for agricultural and commercial use. The company was founded in 1898 by Pius Demmler, the father of Johann Demmler. Car, agricultural machinery and carriage construction were initially the focus of the company. In 1916 the father of today's company owner Johann Demmler was born. He followed in his father's footsteps and learned in his own company, where he passed the journeyman's examination in 1932 and the master’s examination eight years later. Before and during the Second World War , he mainly manufactured transport carts , sledges and replacement field wagons for horses. After the war he started building agricultural and commercial vehicles and superstructures for trucks . At that time, there was great demand, especially in the field of agricultural tractors.
Johann Demmler developed the Demmler tug named after him . Over 40 pieces of this model were made. In addition to the production of Demmler tugs, a second mainstay was created with a haulage company. In the following years, in addition to the usual trailers, lifting platforms , floor conveyors and special constructions were also produced.
In 1948, Johann Demmler built his business on the site of today's Auto Magg company. He died at the age of 33, leaving behind a wife, daughter and his 11-year-old son. With a few employees and the mother's skill, the company was able to continue. A good 20 years ago, the construction of individual trailers began, which are still produced today.
