Fairy is a hand dishwashing detergent from the US consumer goods company Procter & Gamble .

Established and well-known brand was Fairy Ultra by Villarriba and Villabajo commercial of the year 1992. It replaced the product Spüli . In Spain, the detergent was introduced under the name Fairy in 1991 , the Spanish commercial served as the basis for the German version.

In 2000, the brand Fairy (ger .: was Fee, Elfe ) from Procter & Gamble in the course of an international standardization of the products by the brand Dawn (ger .: Dawn, awakening replaced). The strategy turned out to be bad planning. Procter & Gamble's market shares in Germany fell drastically. As a result, the Fairy brand was reintroduced in September 2003.
