Faiz Karizi

Faiz Karizi ( Persian فيض كاريزي) (* 1953 in Kar-e Zamin, a suburb of Kabul ) is an Afghan singer . He is also known as the "king of folklore music". He currently (2008) lives in Sweden .

During his high school years, he participated in social and artistic activities. His classmates and teachers encouraged him to sing. In 1978 he appeared on the national television of Afghanistan and quickly became a famous singer. During this time, he began recording various albums. He later moved to Peshawar in Pakistan . In 2001 Karizi fled to Sweden.
