Falko Langenhorst
Falko Langenhorst (* 1964 ) is Professor of Analytical Mineralogy of Micro- and Nanostructures at the University of Jena .
Scientific career
Langenhorst studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and received his doctorate in Münster in 1993. His habilitation took place in 2000 at the University of Bayreuth. From 2004 to 2008 he held a chair at the University of Jena . In February 2008 he moved to the University of Bayreuth. In 2011 I moved back to Jena.
His main research areas are transmission and scanning electron microscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy as well as shock wave and regional metamorphosis of rocks.

- 2003 Victor Moritz Goldschmidt Prize of the German Mineralogical Society
- 2004 Appointment as a member of the Academia Europaea
