Fallout was a heavy metal band formed in Brooklyn , New York City in 1979 . The band self- published the single Rock Hard in 1981 .

During its short existence, Fallout was not known beyond Brooklyn, live performances were rare because of Peter Ratajczyk's stage fright. Around 1980 Fallout appeared as the opening act for the band Twisted Sister . At the end of their performances, keyboardist Josh Silver smashed his instrument, but it wasn't the original instrument, but a similar device that was mostly defective. After no record company wanted to sign the group, Josh Silver founded the Silver Recordings label with financial support from his family and released the single Rock Hard in 1981 with an edition of 500 copies . There are no other recordings of the band, which is why the original single achieved prices of $ 500 and more among collectors.

After three years the group broke up. Peter Ratajczyk (then called Peter Steele ) and Louie Beateaux founded Carnivore , Josh Silver and John Campos founded Original Sin .
