False Ridge ( English for False Ridge ) is a mountain ridge on the east coast of Clarence Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It ends in False Point .
Scientists from the British Joint Services Expedition to the Elephant Island Group (JSEEIG, 1976-1977) named it after a navigational error they made while driving north from Cape Bowles .
