Collapsible container

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A collapsible container is a transport or storage container that can be considerably reduced in volume by folding or collapsing when empty. Due to the smaller space requirement, the advantages are the reduced storage and transport costs, at least for the empty containers. The sizes range from a few centimeters to a 45 ft high-cube ISO container . Such large folding containers are sometimes also used as lounges or for mobile exhibitions.

The materials used for collapsible containers are steel , aluminum as profiled sheet metal as well as wood-based materials and textile fabrics . The systems offered range from simple plugging together to partially patented, accordion-like folding systems to foldable textile solutions, so-called big bags .
