Falx cerebelli

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The falx cerebelli ( lat. - anat. For "cerebellar sickle") is a plate located in the median line and attached to the inside of the skullcap . It is formed by the hard meninges ( dura mater ) and continues the falx cerebri under the tentorium cerebelli to the foramen magnum . Its point of attachment to the occiput ( Os occipitale ) is the internal occipital crest . In humans, the falx cerebelli is variable and encompasses the sinus occipitalis(see Sinus durae matris ).
